Over the past few months in my quest to continue to identify and support black-owned businesses, I have expanded my search to include wines!
Now I loooovvveee me a good glass of wine. I tend to go for red wines. I personally love Cabernet Sauvignon and occasionally, I'll have a glass of a sweet red wine. When I venture into whites, I usually go for a Sauvignon Blanc or a Riesling. Either way, I enjoy a glass of wine with dinner... or without 🤷🏾♀️.
So in my quest, I have come across a few that I have thoroughly enjoyed, some I have yet to try but they have made their way into my wine collection and I wanted to share them with you all! Please feel free to let me know of others out there that you'd recommend.

The McBride Sisters are the first African American sisters to start their own wine company over 13 years ago. I recently discovered a couple of the wines in their collection and I have definitely enjoyed them. I have had the Black Girl Magic Rosé, the Black Girl Magic Red Blend. They also have a collection of canned wines called the She Can. These are super cute for beach days or picnics... or just cause.

There is also Maison Noir Wines created by André Hueston Mack back in 2007. Maison Noir has a wide collection of wines (and t-shirts) with a unique style and flavor of their own. I thoroughly enjoyed their Love Drunk Rose; in fact, I just finished the bottle while writing this post ☺️. I also have in my wine collection, a bottle of their O.P.P Pinot Noir and their Sheep's Clothing Cabernet Sauvignon which I can't wait to try. I gotta pace myself 😂

I have also JUST purchased this beautiful bottle of Sun Goddess Pinot Grigio by Mary J. Blige. I didn't even know Mary J. Blige had a wine out so I was surprised when I discovered this at the wine shop. While, I am not a big Pinot Grigio fan, based on how they described the wine, I am actually really looking forward to trying it. Her wine collection has both the Pinot Grigio as well as a Sauvignon Blanc. I am looking forward to checking it out.
I am excited to continue to discover black owned wine brands and to support them... I mean, hey, if I am going to be drinking wine, I might as well drink with a purpose!
Cheers!
