Is your skin summer ready?

I have discovered a few amazing beauty brands that are my summer go-tos for light and natural skincare as well as quick beauty boosts.

First of all, skincare has got to be of the utmost importance, especially during extreme weather like the summer heat. My skin is typically dry so I have to ensure that in addition to drinking lots of water, I also have to use products that hydrate my skin. My go-to product for the past several years has been Yelle SkinCare. This skincare system is a plant-based organic line exclusively created for melanin-rich skin... like mine :). The hydrating serum in particular is a concentrated base of pure vegan hyaluronic acid to plump skin, reduce wrinkles and make my skin more youthful. I always apply this underneath my foundation to protect my skin.

Another thing you must ALWAYS do to retain healthy and youthful skin is to apply sunscreen! Ladies, this is super important during the summer (and pretty much all year round)! Did you know that just 30 minutes in the sun can cause damage to your skin if not protected? I recently discovered Black Girl Sunscreen and I absolutely love it! It's made with natural ingredients, it's vegan, cruelty free and dries clear. This is the perfect pairing to my skincare regimen and provides a lightweight but powerful layer of protection for my skin.

Now for the beauty boosts! I love my fast face foundation from The Lip Bar! It's a throw it in my purse, on-the-go, quick beauty boost type of product that keeps me sane because of my busy lifestyle. I have been known to throw on a light beat, right from my car before a meeting or a basketball tournament and this is exactly it. This product is also infused with hyaluronic acid! There ya go! More opportunities to create youthful looking skin!! The foundation is light-weight, comes with a brush attached and their shade finder tool is spot on! You have to try it!

To round out my picks for the season, I like to keep a tube of Shoo Cosmetics lipstick or lipgloss in my purse. I love their products because of course - they are all natural and have moisturizing ingredients like shea butter, avocado oil and more. In addition to the items in the lipstick, the colors are beautiful!! Sooo many to choose from. Shoo is also at the perfect price point so that if I want to carry a glam color or something more casual, I won't break the bank by having more than one!
