Skincare hasn't always been a huge priority for me but the last few years I have been very focused on creating a consistent and sustainable skincare routine.

I'll admit, in the beginning, I was extremely overwhelmed! There are SO many products on the market promising to reduce wrinkles, increase hydration, maintain youthful elasticity and so much more. Not only was I overwhelmed, but I was also intimidated by the price points! I mean, who really wants to spend $40 on a face wash, only for it to under-deliver what you're expecting. So I felt like I had to make the right decision the first time or risk wasting tons of money.

In addition to the variety of options, I have become increasingly more focused on using natural and organic products at home. This started with our food selections and then haircare, and now, skin care. I was able to narrow my search since I wanted to hone in on products with little to no artificial ingredients. When I came across Yelle Skincare I was in heaven! All natural ingredients, plant based, and woman-owned. I have been using the product for almost 3 years now and I love how it makes my skin feel. I have now incorporated the full system as part of my daily skin care routine.

To start, I begin by using Clinque - Take the Day off - cleansing balm it's vegan but packs a punch; make up does not stand a chance! I love the cleansing balm because it melts away all traces of make up from my skin. It's especially effective at removing mascara (even the waterproof kind) as well as lash glue! I use this before cleaning my face to ensure I remove as much make up as possible so my cleanser can get right to work.

Following the make up removal, I use my Clarisonic Mia Smart along side my Yelle Skincare cleanser and I take about 90 seconds to clean my face. After rinsing with lukewarm water, I dry my face and apply toner. Toner is such a great product because it immediately tightens your skin right after the cleanser and prepares your face for any serums and moisturizers you'll use subsequently.

After cleansing and toning my face, I apply all the serums I need to target the problem areas of my skin. Because my skin is dry and especially during the winter months, I use a hydrating serum with hyaluronic acid. Occasionally, I'll double up on serums; if my skin is also in need of some tightening, I'll apply my hydrating serum first, give it about 30 seconds to dry and then add on my peptide boosting serum. I'll also use a vitamin C serum on occasion as well to brighten my skin and give it a boost.

Following the serums, I apply my moisturizer or, if I am going out during the day, I'll apply my sunscreen. The key here is to wait in between steps to ensure each layer has a chance to absorb into your skin. Once you've done that and applied moisturizer, I typically seal underneath my eye with an eye cream as a final step.

While it sounds like a lot, my full routine takes me roughly 5-7 minutes to complete and my skin always looks so beautiful afterwards.

You should give it a try! Create your own 5 minute routine and follow it for at least a week and see how you feel! If nothing else, your skin will thank you ☺️
